From the office…..
The club held an extremely successful summer ball on Saturday evening hosted by Captain Martin Roffe. Following a champagne reception we had a superb three course meal and were entertained by a young close up magician who baffled the senses. This was followed by some fantastic entertainment from ‘The Covered’, a tight eight piece band who had everyone on their feet from the word go. Thanks to the generosity of members and guests alike over £2,000 was raised through an auction and raffle. Proceeds will go to the Captain’s charities – Great Ormond Street Hospital and Cancer Research UK.
Following a decision taken at the EGM last Friday the current club office in Warren Cottage may become available for rental very soon. If anybody would be interested in renting these premises could they please declare their interest to: The Manager, Wanstead Golf Club by close of Business on Friday 30th June 2017.

Golfers V Bowlers at the easy game –
Bowls and Fish and Chips
Friday 30th is our annual Bowls match against the bowlers of Wanstead. Traditionally the bowlers have triumphed but I am convinced that this will be our year. Please put your name up on the list in the foyer if you would like to play as the fish and chips need to be organised. Currently the Bowlers have 26 on their side so we need to get some names up. If you have not been before, trust me it is a great night. Sport and Fish and Chips for a tenner.
2 trending questions of the week:
The white thing in the corner of the car park belongs to Nana’s International Traders and will be gone tomorrow.
The fallen tree behind the 5th tee; not so simple to answer. It is proving easier to get a golden eagle into our trees than it is to get our tree surgeons, Becker Tree Services, but I am working hard to find a replacement and the fallen branches should be cleared early next week. I need to clear it before Baldev and Feeney spot it and try to start a fire.
